Fall 2024 Workshops

Acting: Getting Out of your Head

Join Trina Asiedu, a seasoned film producer, director, casting director, and actress, in a 6-week free virtual workshop designed to help actors and actresses break free from their mental barriers. Learn techniques that will allow you to truly embody your roles, rather than just acting them. This workshop has two sessions this fall; choose the right one that fits your schedule!

Infusing Activism into Writing workshop.

In this workshop we encourage participants to explore multiple genres of screenplays and teleplays (horror, comedy, drama, etc.). Participants are prompted to think about issues that plague their communities, messages they wish to convey, and characters necessary to tell their stories.

Participants are provided with the tools they need to develop strong stories independently outside of the workshop and are encouraged to bring their work into class for further development and feedback from others in the workshop.

Out in the Field: Cinematography

This six-week, hybrid, immersive workshop takes participants to iconic locations around the city, teaching them how to capture stunning footage with any camera. They’ll master the use of camera movement and angles to express character emotions, and discover how to set the perfect mood and tone for your film. Whether a seasoned pro or just starting out, this workshop will elevate your cinematography skills to the next level.

Video Editing: The basics

Whether you’re aspiring to become a professional video editor or simply want to learn a few skills to enhance your reel, social media content, or short films, this 12-week workshop will teach you the foundations of video editing. Participants will learn the basics of video editing using software like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
