Brandi Webb

Brandi Webb’s work in theater and film has shed light on the many plights faced by marginalized communities since 2005. As a film producer and director, she has been able to advocate for equal rights for African American, Latino, and other ethnic minorities with multiple organizations to magnify her message. Her extensive experience in scriptwriting, directing, and producing have culminated in her powerful 2021 documentary, Betrayal of a Nation. Webb’s extensive experience and cultural background makes her a perfect fit as executive director of Butterfly Noir.

Jennifer Jenesis Scott

Jenesis Scott is a writer, director, producer, and founder of multimedia company Sage Master House LLC. Her direction has seen her stage-manage “Rough Magic” in 2013, which opened at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to stellar international reviews and additionally features in the New York Times; and “Ibrahim” in 2017, an award-winning film that premiered at ABFF and showcased at the Blackstar Film Festival. She was one of the winners of the John Singleton Script Competition, winning $20,000, and ended 2020 as consulting producer on HBO’s “Storm Over Brooklyn”. Her passion and dedication for bringing overlooked stories to the public consciousness, keeps her pulse to the community and protects the voice of the under-served.

Writing Instructor
Yhane Smith

Yhane Smith graduated from Rutgers University and began in theater as a dramaturge assistant, script reader, and development assistant, transitioning to television and film production before working as a freelance production coordinator and producer. Yhane is an independent film producer but her most impactful work comes from amplifying the work of female filmmakers through her non-profit Chicks with Flicks Film Fest. In addition to curating this film festival, she has volunteered with the Odunde Festival in Philadelphia and Crossroads Africa. Her continued vibrance and vigor has brought her as far as West Africa, exploring the African Diaspora whilst researching folklore, music, and culture with the Philadelphia Folklore Society and her cultural exposure and industry experience makes her a great asset to Butterfly Noir.

Summer Morgan

Summer Morgan studied video editing at the Art Institute of Atlanta. In 2018 she was hired to edit the documentary, Betrayal of a Nation. Morgan is also a producer of a web series titled, Thuggin’ Larry. Her work as a freelance editor, editing music videos, film, and commercials, brings a unique and vibrant flavor to Butterfly Noir.

Trina Asiedu

Trina Asiedu is a film producer, director, casting director, and actress. In 2013, she worked as a line producer for a feature film titled, Sincere’s Heart. In 2017, Asiedu went on to develop her own project, producing a short horror titled, “Remember.” That same year Trina co-produced the Betrayal of a Nation Documentary with Yet 2 Evolve Productions. Her industry experience and knowledge along with her approach to production, brings a unique perspective to her instruction and consulting at Butterfly Noir.
